How it works

What a hearing benefit usually looks like

Traditional Medicare does not cover hearing aids. Many Medicare Advantage plans do, through a hearing benefit company the plan partners with. Here is how that usually works, and how we handle it for you.

1

Show us your card

Text a photo of your insurance card to (623) 255-8098, or have it ready at your visit. That is all we need.

2

We verify your benefit

We check with your plan's hearing benefit company: what is covered, at which technology level, and whether a hearing test is included.

3

You hear it before you decide

What your plan pays, what is left, and what each option would mean for you, explained in plain words at your kitchen table.

Plans we work with most. We are in network with TruHearing and UnitedHealthcare Hearing, the benefit companies behind many West Valley plans, and we accept most other Medicare Advantage plans too. If yours is not one we have seen before, send the card anyway. We will find out.

No coverage promises. Hearing benefits change by plan and by year, so we never guess at what yours covers. We verify it from your card, every time, and tell you exactly what we find.

Good to know

What the benefit does and does not change

  • The visit is the same. A complete hearing test at home, your results explained, and real options with no pressure, whether a plan is paying or you are.
  • You still choose the hearing aid. The benefit usually sets an allowance or a copay by technology level. You pick the device that fits your hearing loss and your day.
  • The care that comes with it is ours. Fitting, programming, follow-up visits and no travel fee come with every pair we fit, however it is paid for.
  • No plan? No problem. Everything on our pricing page is available without insurance, and if cost is a concern, just ask.

Good questions

Asked often, answered plainly

Does Medicare cover hearing aids?
Traditional Medicare (Part A and Part B) does not cover hearing aids. Many Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans do include a hearing benefit, usually through a third-party administrator such as TruHearing or UnitedHealthcare Hearing. The benefit varies by plan and by year, so we verify yours before anything is decided.
Do you take my Medicare Advantage plan?
We accept most Medicare Advantage plans. Send a photo of your insurance card, or have it ready at your visit, and we verify exactly what your plan covers.
Does Medicare cover a hearing test?
Some plans include a routine hearing test as part of the hearing benefit, and some do not. That is one of the things we check when we verify your card. If you pay on your own, see our pricing page.
What does a hearing benefit usually cover?
Most hearing benefits give you either a set allowance toward hearing aids or a fixed copay for a pair at a certain technology level, often with a fitting and follow-up visits included. The exact amounts come from your plan, and we read them to you before you decide anything.
What do I need to bring?
Your insurance card. That is all we need to verify your benefit. Bring your current hearing aids too if you have them.
