Who you are working with

Hearing care that feels personal

Melissa has called the Greater West Valley home for more than 20 years. CarePoint Hearing is her family-owned practice, built on one belief: hearing care should feel personal, honest, and unhurried.

That is why she comes to you. Bringing care to your home or community means you are comfortable, there is no rushing, and you have her full attention. She sits with you, explains everything clearly, and takes as long as it takes. Her goal is for every person she works with to leave feeling heard, supported, and confident about their hearing health.

She is a licensed Arizona Hearing Aid Dispenser, which means she tests hearing, fits and programs hearing aids to your hearing loss, and keeps them working with cleanings, adjustments and repairs. When a hearing test turns up something a physician or ENT should see, she says so and points you there first.

CarePoint Hearing exists because life sounds better when someone takes the time to truly listen. That is what Melissa brings to every visit.

What a visit is like

Unhurried, explained, and in your own home

1

She listens first

Your concerns, your health history, and the moments when hearing has gotten hard. That conversation shapes everything after it.

2

A complete hearing test

The same test a clinic runs, at your kitchen table, with the results explained in plain words before she leaves.

3

Options, no pressure

If a hearing aid would help, you hear the choices and the real prices. If it would not, she tells you that too.

Good questions

Asked often, answered plainly

Is a Hearing Aid Dispenser the same as a Hearing Instrument Specialist?
Yes. They are two names for the same kind of license. Many states say Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS). Arizona says Hearing Aid Dispenser (HAD). Melissa's license comes from the Arizona Department of Health Services and reads Hearing Aid Dispenser, license HAD16102, so that is the title she uses.
Is Melissa an audiologist?
No, and she is happy to tell you so. People call her one all the time. She likes to joke that she did not pay for that much schooling. An audiologist has a doctorate in audiology (the AuD after the name), which means years more school and clinical training. Melissa is fully licensed to test your hearing, explain the results, and fit and care for your hearing aids. When she sees something that needs an audiologist or a physician, she tells you and sends you to the right place.
What can an audiologist do that Melissa does not?
Audiologists handle the more specialized side of hearing care. That includes balance and dizziness testing (called vestibular testing), hearing care for babies and children, and cochlear implant patients. If any of that is what you need, Melissa will point you to an audiologist.
What about an ENT office?
An ENT is a medical doctor who treats the ears, nose and throat, including surgery and medicine. The ENT doctor usually does not do the hearing test. Many ENT offices have an audiologist or a hearing instrument specialist on staff who does the testing, and the two work together when needed. So at an ENT office, the person testing your hearing may hold the same kind of license Melissa does.
Do I need to see an ENT or get a referral before my first visit?
No. Most people can start with a hearing test from Melissa, right at home. Just call, text, or book online. If your test or your history points to something medical, like sudden hearing loss, ear pain or drainage, dizziness, or a change in one ear only, she will tell you plainly and send you to a physician first.
What does a licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser do?
Tests your hearing, explains the results, recommends and fits hearing aids when they would help, programs them to your hearing loss, and takes care of them over time with cleanings, adjustments and repairs. At CarePoint Hearing, all of that happens at your home or care community.
Where does Melissa see patients?
Across the West Valley: Goodyear, Buckeye, Tonopah, Avondale, Litchfield Park, Tolleson, Waddell, El Mirage, Youngtown, Sun City, Sun City West and Surprise, at home or in your care community. Goodyear is home base, and she sees patients there by appointment too.
